Ten of Wands
Too much of a good fire. Responsibility, overcommitment, the harvest that has to be carried. Set something down before the town, not after you collapse in it.
- ELEMENT
- fire
- NUMBER
- Ten — completion: bent under ten staves, heat become load.
- SYMBOLS
- a figure bowed under a bundle of ten staves, face toward a near town · the bundle so high it hides the road, success as obstruction · a house and field ahead, the burden is going somewhere, not nowhere · heavy step, the last mile of a yes that multiplied
UPRIGHT
- +the dignity of finishing a heavy job
- +knowing you can carry more than you like
- +a destination still in sight
- −identity as the one who never drops a stave
- −refusing help as virtue
- −arriving bitter at a door you chose
- IN LOVE
- The bond has become logistics. Share the bundle. Love is not proved by how bent you can walk.
- IN WORK
- Overload, the promotion that was ten jobs. Delegate, drop, or the town will get a husk.
- IN SELF
- Completion in wands is not a wreath; it is a pack. You may set it down without failing the fire.
REVERSED
The bundle is being rearranged — a chance to drop staves — or it has become so interior you will not admit you are bent.
- Blocked — the upright current exists and is dammed.
- Internalized — the drama is inner rather than worldly.
- Excess — the current is overplayed.
Blocked Ten of Wands cannot even pick up the work. Inner Ten hides the load. Excess Ten adds an eleventh stave to feel needed.
