Cups · II
Two of Cups
A real exchange. Not merger — two cups, two people, one chemistry. The work is mutuality, not the myth of one soul in two bodies.
- ELEMENT
- water
- NUMBER
- Two — relation and choice: the exchange, caduceus over the clasp.
- SYMBOLS
- two figures exchanging cups, a pact made with both hands · a caduceus rising between them, healing and speech braided · a lion-head with wings above the staff, desire given a public seal · a small house on a hill, the life a yes might have to live in
UPRIGHT
- +reciprocity you can see in the hands
- +a truce that could become love, or a love that knows it is a pact
- +attraction with a spine of respect
- −calling a crush a covenant
- −keeping the caduceus as display while one cup is empty
- −refusing the house on the hill — chemistry without a life
- IN LOVE
- The meeting, the making-up, the toast. Stay two. The winged lion is a vow, not a fusion.
- IN WORK
- A partnership, a deal sealed in goodwill. Check both cups. Charm is not a contract by itself.
- IN SELF
- You are in relation. Ask what you are actually exchanging, and whether it is still true.
REVERSED
The cups miss. Imbalance, a pact broken or never spoken, or a private bond that will not come to the hill.
- Blocked — the upright current exists and is dammed.
- Shadow — the unused face of the card.
- Internalized — the drama is inner rather than worldly.
Blocked Two of Cups will not risk the exchange. Inner Two is a quiet loyalty. Shadow Two uses the toast to hide a one-way thirst.
