Four of Pentacles
A container that has become a fist. Stability, savings, a boundary around resource — useful until the city is only a backdrop and the body is a bank.

- SYMBOLS
- a seated figure holding a disc over the heart, two under the feet, one on the crown · a city behind, the world the figure is not in · a tight mouth, conservation as posture · a black robe, the body used as a vault
UPRIGHT
- +knowing what you will not spend
- +a floor under the life
- +conservation in a real winter
- −miserliness of money, time, or affection
- −control as safety
- −a crown that is only a coin
- IN LOVE
- Withholding. Or a need for security so loud the other cannot move. Share one disc. Keep the floor if you must.
- IN WORK
- A budget, a freeze, a refusal to invest. Sometimes wise. Check whether the city is waiting.
- IN SELF
- You may need a wall. You may have become the wall. The heart-coin can be lowered without going broke.
REVERSED
The fist is opening — or tightening in secret. A spend, a loss of control, or a private vault no one is allowed to know.
- Blocked — the upright current exists and is dammed.
- Excess — the current is overplayed.
- Internalized — the drama is inner rather than worldly.
Blocked Four of Pentacles cannot hold anything. Excess Four cannot release. Inner Four is a secret hoard — of cash, or of love.
